We are seeking a Uniformity Management Engineer to join our Production Technology Team. This position plays a critical role in managing tire uniformity, balance, and overall product quality by analyzing manufacturing data, leading continuous improvement initiatives, supporting OEM quality requirements, and collaborating with production, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.

Position Summary

The Uniformity Management Engineer is responsible for managing and improving tire uniformity and balance quality of our tires throughout the manufacturing process. This role monitors product quality in real time, analyzes manufacturing data, identifies root causes of quality concerns, and develops corrective and preventive actions to improve overall product performance. The Uniformity Management Engineer works closely with production, engineering, quality, maintenance, and supplier teams to improve manufacturing processes, inspection systems, tooling, and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and OEM customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor tire uniformity and balance quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Analyze quality trends, production data, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual OE quality performance reports.
  • Communicate quality performance, production trends, and improvement plans to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Collect, analyze, and manage factors affecting tire uniformity, balance, and overall product quality.
  • Lead root cause investigations for uniformity, balance, grinding, NGC, and other manufacturing quality issues.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
  • Monitor manufacturing equipment, inspection systems, and facility accuracy to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Evaluate rubber compounds, semi-finished products, production equipment, and manufacturing processes that affect tire uniformity.
  • Perform and analyze tire uniformity testing, product evaluations, and trial production runs.
  • Monitor real-time uniformity performance and provide immediate feedback to production and engineering teams.
  • Support first article inspections, first production quality management, and new product launches.
  • Provide OEM technical support related to tire quality and uniformity performance.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve systems supporting tire uniformity and quality management.
  • Lead tooling, fixture, and jig improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing consistency.
  • Manage extrusion die development, inventory, and extrusion profile monitoring.
  • Review quality-related capital investment proposals and provide technical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to improve manufacturing capability and product quality.
  • Prepare for and support internal, customer, IATF, and international quality audits.
  • Maintain and update Control Plans, PFMEA documentation, process documentation, and engineering records.
  • Document all testing, evaluations, investigations, and improvement activities through reports, presentations, and electronic records.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing quality improvement.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze production data and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, tire manufacturing, quality engineering, or process engineering.
  • Six Sigma training or certification.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Experience developing or maintaining PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Familiarity with OEM quality requirements and customer support.
  • Experience supporting quality audits, including IATF and customer audits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and engineering data analysis tools.
