About the roleĀ 

US Retail Markets (USRM) Technology - Innovation Enablement is seeking aĀ passionate Engineering ManagerĀ to lead teams within ourĀ Third-PartyĀ DataĀ portfolio. This is a highly visible role responsible for building, modernizing, and operating data ingestion and platform capabilities that enable critical business outcomes across USRM.Ā 

In this role, you will lead engineering teams responsible for delivering scalable, reliable, and secureĀ third-partyĀ data services consumed across Property, Auto, and Small Commercial domains. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, and peer Engineering Managers to shape roadmaps, drive execution, and continuously raise the bar on engineering excellence.Ā This role plays a keyĀ partĀ in enabling Frontier - One Auto / One Property, ensuring external data is consistently ingested, enriched, and delivered through shared platforms that support unified customer and policy experiences across lines of business.Ā 

WhatĀ you'llĀ doĀ 

  • Lead, coach, and developĀ high performingĀ engineering teams deliveringĀ thirdpartyĀ data ingestion, enrichment, and distribution capabilitiesĀ 

  • Own delivery outcomes across multiple squads, ensuring commitments to quality, reliability, security, and predictability are metĀ 

  • Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technology roadmapsĀ 

  • Drive alignment to engineering standards, platform consistency, and modern design patterns across theĀ Third-PartyĀ Data portfolioĀ 

  • Proactively manage delivery risks, technical debt, andĀ cross teamĀ dependencies in a complex, highly integrated environmentĀ 

  • Foster a strong engineering culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellenceĀ 

  • Participate in talent planning, hiring, coaching, and performance management for engineers and senior individual contributorsĀ

  • Strong experience leading software engineering teams and delivering complex,Ā data intensiveĀ platforms or servicesĀ 

  • Ability to balanceĀ near-termĀ delivery needs withĀ longertermĀ platform modernization and technical strategyĀ 

  • Experience working effectively in large, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and dependenciesĀ 

  • Knowledgeable in modern software engineering languages and tools, includingĀ Java, Spring, AWS, Kubernetes, and TypeScriptĀ 

  • Proven ability to coach engineers, grow talent, and cultivate a culture of ownership and continuous learningĀ

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of technology concepts, strategies and methodologies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s or Master`s Degree in technical or business discipline and a minimum of five years' experience in a practice relevant domain including delivering software solutions in an agile environment.
  • 3 years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Able to manage complex technology development concepts, capabilities and maturity.
  • Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative, communication, presentation and management skills, strong judgment and ability to effectively liaise with cross functional stakeholders and optimize teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate collaboratively and build consensus. In-depth knowledge of technology standards and guidelines; knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques; thorough knowledge of business functions and operations, objectives and strategies.
