Application Engineer/Programmer – Baltimore, MD – $95,000 - $125,000 + Bonus About the Opportunity:

A well-established Building Automation Systems (BAS) integrator is seeking a skilledApplication Engineer/Programmer to support their expanding operations. This position offers strong pay,excellent benefits, and the chance to work on high-visibility BAS and integration projects throughoutthe Baltimore and Washington, DC metropolitan region.

  • Title: Application Engineer/Programmer
  • Bonus: Annual performance incentive
  • Overtime: Eligible; most weeks remain at or near 40 hours
Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and implement Building Automation System (BAS) architecture and control strategies.
  • Program, update, and refine applications using Tridium front ends and graphical user interfaces.
  • Develop comprehensive Sequences of Operations (SOPs) for assigned projects.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and commission BAS systems to ensure accurate functionality and performance.
  • Lead automation data development efforts and prepare detailed submittals and documentation.
  • Perform site visits, job walks, and field validations to gather project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with controls technicians, contractors, and project management teams.
  • Communicate effectively with building owners, end users, engineers, and general contractors.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience as a Controls Technician, Application Engineer, Programmer, or related BAS role.
  • Hands-on experience with BAS platforms such as JCI Facility Explorer, Tridium Niagara, Metasys, Honeywell, or Trane Tracer.
  • Strong skills in programming, system integration, and troubleshooting automation applications.
  • Working knowledge of commissioning procedures, point-to-point checkouts, and system validation.
