Adecco is assisting a client company in recruiting for an Jr. Engineer Co-op Intern position in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. Position Summary

The Operational Excellence Co-op Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives focused on optimizing processes, reducing waste, and enhancing operational efficiency. This role provides practical experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a university or college Co-op program or pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and communication skills.
  • Results-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, preferred.
  • Basic understanding of operational KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of GMP and OSHA requirements preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Support the identification, analysis, and improvement of operational processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to identify efficiency and productivity opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of process documentation, including SOPs, workflows, and process maps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor, track, and report operational KPIs, including OEE, yield, scrap, and other performance indicators.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and project updates for management.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements and validating results.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, GMP, OSHA, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
