• Assess current participant skill levels and compare them with the standard. 

• Apply principles of classroom management and various teaching styles to increase skill level and competence of participants. 

• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to participants with different levelsof skill and knowledge and recognize when adjustment to the level or type of instruction is needed to ensure training success. 

• Facilitate workshop-style programming to individuals with disabilities and other barriers. Act as lead facilitator but encourage and engage participation from Career Consultants throughout training. 

• Evaluate the performance of trainees before and after sessions to assesseffectiveness of training. Use indicators and established instruments to evaluate and document program and participant's performance and outcomes.  

• Create and update training materials to ensure teaching of best practices. 

• Identifythe kinds of information individuals need, including assessments, to assistparticipants to make realistic career decisions, and direct participants to the information as well as developing training plans that address employer needs and job-seeker capabilities. 

• Access, analyze, and use local, state, and national electronic and non-electronic labor market information delivery systems and databases to assistparticipants to explore, set and achieve goals. 

• Create an environment that enables all individuals to contribute to their fullest potential.  

• Identifyand implement innovative methods and adapt materials to meet needs of and deliver services to diverse or special populations. 

• Listen to customer concerns and protect customer confidentiality. Display empathy and caring. Make appropriate referrals.  

• Identifycustomer needs and expectations to create positive customer satisfaction. Listen to customer concerns and solicitfeedback.  

• Understand the importance of accountability and record maintenance.  

• Possess analytical and observation skills that coupled with knowledge and information can lead to effective problem-solving assistance. Seek additionalresources when needed for problem resolution. • Demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, and local workforce development programs, funding guidelines, and workforce development codes. Interpret current laws and structure to deliver appropriate servicesandunderstandshow their own work impactsthe system’s goals. 

Ancillary Job Functions 

• Deliver and apply knowledge of modern job search, recruitmentand retention strategies to assistparticipants in achieving career goals. Provide customerswith career exploration and job development skills.  

• Teach and reinforce appropriate workreadiness skills to assistcustomers with obtaining and maintainingemployment. 

• Write case notes, memos, reportsand other correspondence using appropriate grammar, spellingand punctuation. 

• Enter case notes and related reports into Caseworthyto document services to each customer. 

• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. 

·Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Human Resources, Education, or Counseling, or the equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of four years of experience in Workforce Development, Outplacement, Recruitment, or Vocational Counseling. 

·Requires certification in CPR and First Aid as well as crisis intervention training, as needed. 

·Must have validOH driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
