Job description

The Canadian Strategic Missions Corporation is a space and defence company focused on developing dual-use solutions for delivering unmatched capabilities on this planet and others. CSMC is developing a micro nuclear reactor for remote applications like the arctic, defence, and space exploration. Led by a team with a mix of entrepreneurial and institutional experience at the highest level, we are a bleeding edge company, working at the intersection of energy, geology/geophysics, health technologies, space systems, and imagineering.

We're not gonna do it alone though, and we're hiring a STEM Intern. They will work directly with engineering leads, and crossfunctional project teams. The position will support activities including but not limited to project coordination, technical documentation management, data analysis, research, preparation of technical presentations, support for design processes, and contributing to internal reports. The role will involve facets of project management, documentation, risk tracking, technical research, market awareness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in coordinating project tasks, timelines, and resources to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Track project progress and identify potential risks, proposing solutions to mitigate them.
  • Attend project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including design specifications, experimental methodology and/or technical drawings.
  • Organize and manage the documentation repository to ensure easy access and retrieval of information by team members.
  • Support the creation of technical reports, presentations, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and advancements in the space/defense industry and related technologies.
  • Conduct research and gather relevant information to support project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Gather data and prepare regular progress reports, outlining key milestones, accomplishments, and challenges faced during the project.
  • Assist in analyzing project data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide insights that contribute to the continuous improvement of project performance


Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Essential

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Academic coursework or projects related to project management, technical documentation, data analysis, or reporting are advantageous.
  • Scientific background is an asset.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation practices and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to support data analysis and project reporting tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively within crossfunctional teams.
  • Highly detailoriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in documentation and reporting.


Must be eligible to work in Canada, and able to attain appropriate security clearances requisite with an space, defence, & nuclear company of this type. Candidates will be subject to background checks.
