Security Analysis Specialist Advisor

We are currently seeking a Security Analysis Specialist Advisor to join our team in Dallas, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

The Insider Threat Analyst is responsible for monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to insider threat activities that may impact the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of organizational assets. This role focuses on analyzing user behavior, identifying anomalous activities, conducting investigations, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to mitigate risks associated with malicious, negligent, or compromised insiders.

The analyst will work closely with Security Operations, IT Operations, HR, Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders to support the organization's Insider Threat Program while continuously improving detection capabilities and program maturity.

Key Responsibilities

User Activity Monitoring & Detection

  • Monitor user behaviour across enterprise systems, applications, endpoints, and cloud environments to identify suspicious or anomalous activities.
  • Analyse User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) alerts and other security monitoring outputs.
  • Detect potential insider threats involving data exfiltration, unauthorized access, privilege misuse, policy violations, or unusual user behaviour.
  • Correlate events from multiple sources including SIEM, UEBA, DLP, EDR, Active Directory, cloud platforms, and network security tools.

Investigation & Incident Response

  • Investigate insider threat alerts and security incidents from initial detection through resolution.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of user activities, authentication events, file access, email usage, endpoint activity, and network behaviour.
  • Perform forensic review and evidence collection to support investigations.
  • Document findings, timelines, root cause analysis, and remediation recommendations.
  • Escalate high-risk incidents according to established procedures.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with NTT IT Operations teams and Account internal stakeholders to remediate identified risks.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, and Security teams during investigations when required.
  • Participate in incident response and remediation activities.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews related to insider threat monitoring.

Detection Engineering & Program Enhancement

  • Develop and improve insider threat detection use cases, rules, and behavioural analytics models.
  • Tune alerts and detection logic to reduce false positives and improve investigation efficiency.
  • Identify monitoring gaps and recommend enhancements to Insider Threat monitoring capabilities.
  • Contribute to Insider Threat Program maturity initiatives, metrics, reporting, and strategic improvements.
  • Assist in the implementation of new monitoring technologies and capabilities.

Reporting & Metrics

  • Prepare investigation reports and executive summaries.
  • Track insider threat trends, emerging risks, and key program metrics.
  • Produce dashboards and operational reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations to improve security controls and user awareness.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Security Operations, Insider Threat, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, Cybersecurity Monitoring, or related security functions.
  • Experience conducting security investigations and analyzing security events.
  • Experience working with SIEM, UEBA, EDR, DLP, or related security technologies.
  • Experience analyzing user activity logs and behavioral analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Insider Threat Programs.
  • Experience with Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR).
  • Experience with cloud security monitoring (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS).
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Experience supporting investigations involving employee misconduct or policy violations.
  • Relevant certifications such as:
    • Security+
    • CySA+
    • GCIH
    • GCFA
    • CISSP
    • CISM
