Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager to support the the Survivable Air Operations Center (SAOC) Team (AFLCMC/WVS), which is located at Hanscom AFB, MA.
The SAOC program is a Major Defense Acquisition Program tasked with leading the development and delivery of the replacement fleet for the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC).
In this role, this PM will assist the WVS government program office team, working in conjunction with program senior leaders, engineers and program managers, as well as other support contractor engineers and program managers, with the below described responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management.
  • Draft and gain concurrence of senior program leadership of acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.), and support and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports for SAOC and senior USAF leadership.
  • Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews and IMP/IMS reviews; support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior leadership.
  • Provide Branch and Division level records and SharePoint site management support
  • Weekly compilation and tech editing of Branch Staff Briefing slides
  • Assist the Government Lead with preparation, review, technical editing, and staffing of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD) - Acquisition and Sustainment (A&S) Milestone Document requirements as defined on the Milestone Document Identification Tool website
  • Actively participate in team meetings to develop plans and contingencies for system acquisition and implementation. The ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms on highly technical topics is critical.
  • Support the Government Lead with development, review and staffing of SAOC Acquisition Documentation, specifically OUSD(A&S) MDID website mandated Information Requirements and Milestone Documents
  • Participate in, and support, as required, SAOC meetings and conferences
  • Support SAOC Data and Record Management, especially at the Branch level
  • Prepare and maintain minutes for technical meetings and conferences, as required
  • Provide Program Management support to the SAOC PM and staff at major program reviews, inspections, conferences, program evaluations and major milestone events

Qualifications:
  • Minimum: Bachelors degree and 7 years of experience in program/project management, 3 of which must be in the DoD;
  • Experience supporting a range of DoD acquisition activities through various stages of the Defense Acquisition cycle
  • Possess the knowledge and mindset to play a key "forward leaning" support role as a senior contractor to deliver on a program of national-level interest and scrutiny
  • Possess the detailed knowledge of systems acquisition and program management to support the program office to manage and report on a program or portfolio of programs/projects.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must act independently with minimal guidance or direction, and effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Must be able to quickly gain proficiency in standard (Government specified) software applications.
