Location: Omaha, Nebraska - Local position only - no remote
Department: Activation Studio
Reports to: VP, Integrated Marketing
Date: May 2026

Who We Are:

At OBI, we are modern marketers. Our passion for using customer insights to drive innovation and deliver on dreams is at the heart of everything we do. We believe our work goes beyond marketing because our employees and our clients deserve it. When we do what we do, dreams are realized.

If you're ready to bring your strategic expertise into an environment where Curiosity, Collaboration, Tenacity, Responsibility, and Innovation define the culture, this role is for you.

The Opportunity:

OBI Creative is seeking an experienced Director, Paid Media Strategy to lead paid media planning and programmatic strategy across the agency. Reporting to the VP, Integrated Marketing, this role serves as OBIโ€™s senior media strategistโ€”developing cross-channel media plans, guiding channel investment decisions, and advancing how paid media drives performance for our clients.

You will partner closely with Activation Studio leaders to ensure media strategy aligns with creative, engagement, digital, and client services efforts. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Omaha office for in-person collaboration. This role also leads and mentors a team of media buyers, reviewing media plans, strengthening strategic thinking, and elevating planning standards across the agency.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Paid Media Strategy Leadership: Lead the development of paid media strategies across search, social, programmatic, and traditional channels, ensuring media investments support integrated marketing plans and client business goals.
  • Programmatic & DSP Leadership: Guide the agencyโ€™s programmatic strategy and use of DSP platforms across client campaigns. Experience with Amazon DSP or similar platforms is highly valued.
  • Media Planning & Optimization: Develop sophisticated media plans that balance reach, targeting, and performance. Review plans created by media buyers and analysts, identifying opportunities to strengthen strategy and optimize investment.
  • Platform Partnerships: Lead relationships with key platform partners including Amazon, Disney, and other major media platforms, identifying opportunities to expand capabilities and unlock additional value for clients.
  • Performance Measurement & Reporting: Establish clear performance frameworks that connect media investment to business outcomes. Bring consistency to how campaigns are measured, reported, and optimized across the media team.
  • Client Strategy & Performance Guidance: Lead paid media conversations with clients, presenting strategy, explaining performance, and translating data into clear recommendations that guide investment decisions.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of media buyers and analysts, supporting their growth while ensuring media plans meet agency standards for strategic thinking and performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with creative, engagement strategy, digital, and client services teams to ensure paid media strategies align with broader campaign goals.
  • Innovation & Industry Awareness: Stay current on media platforms, programmatic technologies, and emerging opportunities in the media landscape, applying relevant insights to elevate client programs.

What We Offer:

  • A leadership role with meaningful influence on client performance and agency growth.
  • A collaborative, inclusive workplace where your expertise and ideas are valued.
  • Opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and continuous learning.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Flexibility and a supportive culture that values balance and well-being.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a company that uses insights and innovation to deliver marketing that drives real business impact.
  • Lead media strategy that connects marketing investment to measurable results.
  • Work in a culture that values curiosity, collaboration, responsibility, and tenacity.
  • Help deliver dreamsโ€”for our clients, our teams, and yourself.

At OBI Creative, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Requirements:

What Weโ€™re Looking For:

  • Deep Paid Media Expertise: Strong experience developing paid media strategies across search, social, programmatic, and traditional channels, including channel mix planning and investment modeling.
  • Programmatic & DSP Experience: Hands-on experience with DSP platforms such as Amazon DSP, The Trade Desk, StackAdapt, or similar environments.
  • Agency Media Planning Experience: Experience developing media plans for multiple clients or brands within an agency or fast-paced marketing environment.
  • Team Leadership Experience: Experience leading and mentoring media buyers or junior media strategists.
  • Strong Analytical Mindset: Comfortable interpreting performance data, identifying opportunities, and making informed recommendations.
  • Client-Facing Confidence: Ability to present media strategy and performance insights clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Integrated Marketing Perspective: Understanding how paid media works within broader marketing programs that include creative, content, engagement, and digital experiences.

About You:

  • Youโ€™re naturally curious about how media performs and always looking for smarter ways to invest and optimize.
  • You enjoy collaborating with strategists, creatives, and analysts to build integrated campaigns that deliver real results.
  • You bring persistence and problem-solving to media planning, continually refining strategy to improve outcomes.
  • You take ownership of your work and hold yourself and your team accountable for strong performance.
  • You stay engaged with emerging platforms and technologies that improve media performance.
