What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a programmatic publisher, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Programmatic Publisher, you need strong analytical skills, digital advertising knowledge, and experience with ad operations, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Proficiency with demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), ad exchanges, and analytics tools like Google Ad Manager and DoubleClick is typically required. Outstanding communication, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail help you optimize revenue and build strong relationships with advertisers. These skills and qualities are crucial for maximizing inventory value, ensuring efficient ad delivery, and maintaining competitive advantage in the digital advertising ecosystem.

What is a programmatic publisher?

A Programmatic Publisher is a company or individual who owns digital media properties, such as websites or apps, and sells ad space on those properties through automated, real-time bidding platforms. They use programmatic advertising technology to connect their inventory with advertisers, maximizing revenue by allowing multiple buyers to bid for ad placement. Programmatic publishers rely on tools like ad exchanges, supply-side platforms (SSPs), and demand-side platforms (DSPs) to automate and optimize the sale of their ad inventory. This process increases efficiency, transparency, and targeting capabilities compared to traditional ad sales methods.

How does a programmatic publisher typically collaborate with advertisers and ad tech partners to optimize revenue?

A Programmatic Publisher works closely with advertisers, demand-side platforms (DSPs), and ad tech partners to maximize ad revenue and fill rates. This involves managing relationships, troubleshooting delivery issues, and leveraging analytics to adjust floor prices or ad placements for better performance. Publishers often participate in regular meetings with partners to review campaign effectiveness, discuss inventory opportunities, and ensure compliance with brand safety and viewability standards. Collaborating across these teams helps publishers stay agile in a rapidly changing digital advertising landscape and ensures they are positioned to capture the most value from their inventory.

About the Opportunity & Team

This role sits in Chicago driving our growth strategy across the Dentsu ecosystem. As a Senior Account Executive dedicated to Dentsu, you will act as the primary strategic commercial partner across Dentsu agencies (including Carat, iProspect, dentsu X, and Merkle) and brand direct clients.

This team is responsible for driving our advertiser-first strategy and accelerating revenue growth through strategic agency partnerships. You will collaborate daily with cross-functional partners across Insights, Customer Experience, and Technical Solutions to turn client objectives into high-performing, innovative media strategies.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at building deep relationships across complex agency networks, and are excited to bring Teads' cutting-edge adtech solutions to life, this is your stage.

About the Role

As a Senior Account Executive, your core mission is to expand Teads' commercial footprint and accelerate revenue growth across Dentsu agencies and associated brand-direct accounts. You will take full accountability for managing the complete commercial lifecycle, from navigating complex agency trading desks to delivering consultative pitches and driving ongoing campaign performance.

Success in this role means achieving regional revenue targets, deepening partner adoption across CTV, online video (OLV), display, and programmatic solutions, and maximizing client renewal rates.

What You'll DoCommercial Growth & Account Ownership
  • Identify and close high-potential revenue opportunities to grow our market footprint across Dentsu agencies and brand-direct accounts.
  • Navigate and establish deep, multi-threaded relationships across complex Dentsu structures—from trading desks and planning teams to executive leadership.
  • Educate agency partners and brand clients on Teads' cutting-edge offerings across CTV, OLV, digital display, and programmatic advertising.
Consultative Strategy & Solution Alignment
  • Align Teads' omnichannel product portfolio with the evolving business needs of Dentsu prospects and clients to deliver tailored, high-impact campaign solutions.
  • Partner seamlessly with internal cross-functional teams—including Insights, Customer Experience, and Technical Solutions—to execute flawless campaigns and optimize client satisfaction.
Pipeline Management & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain a disciplined, accurate sales pipeline and pipeline hygiene within internal CRM systems to ensure precision in revenue forecasting.
  • Review and analyze key operational and campaign inputs—such as RFPs, trade agreement margins, and performance metrics—to optimize account growth and renewal rates.
What Will You Bring to the Team?
  • Core Experience: 5–7 years of proven digital media sales experience, ideally focused on video, CTV, or programmatic channels.
  • Agency Network & Domain Expertise: Strong existing network across Dentsu agencies (e.g., Carat, iProspect, dentsu X, and Merkle) and direct advertiser contacts, paired with a solid understanding of CTV, OLV, digital display, and programmatic buying.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation capabilities, with demonstrated skill in negotiating and influencing key agency and brand decision-makers.
  • Mindset & Execution: Proactive, collaborative, and self-directed approach with comfort navigating a fast-moving, rapidly evolving adtech landscape.
What You'll Get

At Teads, your scope is bigger than your title. Here is what you can count on in return:

  • Meaningful scope & real ownership — direct accountability for driving growth across high-profile Dentsu accounts with trusted autonomy.
  • Global exposure and genuinely complex challenges at real scale — reach 2.2Bn users/month across 18Bn ad opportunities/day.
  • Smart, ambitious peers across 30+ markets in a collaborative, cross-border setup.
  • A genuinely human culture — high care alongside high accountability.
  • Real investment in your growth — structured mentorship, coaching, courses, workshops, certifications, and leadership development programs.
At Teads, your impact travels further.

The pay range for this position is USD $260,000 to $300,000 annually including on target earnings. The actual amount offered may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to salary, you may be eligible for our competitive benefits and perks to support you and your family as part of Teads' total rewards package.
