Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the direction of the Joint Office of Neighborhood Safety & Engagement and reports to the Gun Violence Reduction Strategy Coordinator. Ensures that nonprofit and agency partners meet their contractual, fiscal, and programmatic obligations. Supports transparency, equity, and impact in the city’s violence prevention work by overseeing contracts, conducting audits and site visits, verifying financial compliance, and tracking performance metrics. Provides technical assistance and training to grantees, develops tools to support contract execution, and compiles data for internal and public reporting. Collaborates with city agencies, Comprehensive Public Safety ecosystem partners, and funders to align goals, support funding processes, and represent the office in compliance and community settings. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including speaking to the media and public. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as computer, telephone and copier. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Some travel to off-site meetings is required. Occasional evenings or weekends to deliver trainings and attend events. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or related field and two (2) years of working experience in contract compliance, grant management, or public sector procurement; or any combination of experience & training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Working experience with violence prevention strategies and non-profit accountability preferred. Working experience with Microsoft Office Suites and grant tracking platforms. Certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), Grant Professional Certification (GPC) or non-profit management credentials is preferred.
