PLC / Controls Maintenance Technician

Terrell, TX & Surrounding Areas

$35–$45/hour (Based on Experience)

Full-Time | Overtime Available

Express Employment Professionals in Terrell is hiring for a PLC / Controls Maintenance Technician to support leading manufacturing facilities across Rockwall, Kaufman, and Van Zandt counties.

This role is built for technicians who specialize in automation and controls—not basic maintenance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment in live production environments
  • Work with systems like Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi PLCs
  • Diagnose issues using HMI systems, ladder logic, and I/O troubleshooting
  • Modify and support PLC programs as needed
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems (motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, 480V)
  • Support mechanical repairs when needed, but primary focus is controls

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • Experience with VFDs, servo motors, and automated systems
  • Background in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
Preferred Experience:
  • Editing or creating PLC programs
  • Robotics experience (Fanuc, ABB, etc.)
  • Electrical certifications or technical training
