Engineering Technician Intern

To support our expanding operations, we are currently seeking candidates for our West Springfield, Massachusetts site.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Technician Intern provides support to Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
teams by assisting with documentation updates, engineering support tasks, and basic machine shop
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Updating existing engineering drawings with proper part numbers, drawing numbers, and revision information to support quality control requirements and ISO certification preparation.
  • Assisting Electrical Engineering with electrical setup, wiring, documentation, and other electronics-related support tasks.
  • Providing general support to the machine shop for basic metalworking, part preparation, and engineering prototype activities.
  • Supporting engineering documentation, organization, and other tasks as needed to improve efficiency within the Engineering department.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Hands-on experience through coursework, lab work, or projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Highly organized, with an ability to efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent judgment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a STEM or closely related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical amp; electrical assemblies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be capable of working in front of a computer for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Good close-up vision and steady hands to manipulate small components.
