Job description

Our client is a full-service multi-disciplined firm searching for a Certified Engineer Intern to join the team at our office located in Longwood, FL. They offer a wonderful open atmosphere and offer employees an opportunity for upward growth within the company. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Project Coordination
Understanding of general Civil Engineering design principles
Construction Document preparation for competitive construction bidding is a Plus
Experience in Site Geometry, Utility Services and/or Main design, Site Grading, Storm Drainage design, Stormwater Management, Stormwater Pollution Prevention design, and/or Local Agency Code Analysis and Implementation in Design a Plus
Preparation of Project Documentation and Reports is a Plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited College/University
1-4 years of experience
EI License Certification
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads a Plus
Proficiency in Excel
ICPR Experience a Plus
WaterCad Experience a Plus
AutoTurn Experience a Plus
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
โ€ข Perform civil site facility analysis and design
โ€ข Prepare conceptual designs, final design and construction plans and specifications under the direction and supervision of the Engineer of Record
โ€ข Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design
โ€ข Function as a staff civil site engineering intern
โ€ข Assemble civil engineering construction and permit documents, including but not limited to plans and reports
โ€ข Preparation of applications and forms for plan approvals and permitting
โ€ข Maintain and update civil engineering records and reports
โ€ข Perform intern-level engineering work in the office and field related to civil engineering and construction projects
โ€ข Verify and backcheck all work prior to submittal to the Engineer of Record, project lead, project manager or supervisor
โ€ข Provide engineering support during construction
โ€ข Coordination with other in-house and out-of-office team members
โ€ข Perform related engineering intern duties and responsibilities as assigned
