Fall 2026 Geotechnical Engineering Intern

Call & Nicholas is an internationally recognized geotechnical engineering firm based in Tucson, AZ that provides consulting services to clients in the mining industry. CNI has been in existence since 1979 and employs engineers, geologists, and support staff. We are an industry leader in geotechnical services and proud to be 100% employee owned.

Job Description

This position is based in Tucson, AZ, and we are seeking candidates who are local to the Tucson area.

We are seeking a geotechnical/ geological engineering intern to join our consulting group based in Tucson, AZ. This job requires the applicant to be locally based in Tucson, AZ.

  • Office work will include:
    • Data reduction including stereographic, statistical, and geospatial analyses
    • Technical reporting and documentation of field work and analysis work
    • Laboratory testing, performing and assisting with soil and rock strength testing
  • Local Field Work (if applicable):
    • site characterization
    • geologic/geotechnical mapping,
    • geomechanical core logging
Qualifications
  • Actively pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in geology, geological engineering, geotechnical engineering or mining engineering.
  • 0-5 years' experience
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
Additional Information

Schedule: part time not to exceed 30 hours per week, normal business hours.
