Assistant Engineering Manager
About the role:
Assist the Chief Engineer in all aspects of hotel and building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons' policies. Assist with the planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the workflow of engineering requests.
What you will do:
  • Assist in managing the team to conduct repairs and maintenance of the building as required by the operation or special projects assigned by the Engineering Manager.

  • Assist in the training, supervision, counseling, scheduling and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis.

  • Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who provide reliable 24-hour emergency services.

  • This position may also respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner to achieve guest satisfaction.

What you bring:
  • Minimum 2 + years of previous experience in engineering trades related to hospitality is preferred. Experience working in and supervising staff and leading teams in a hotel environment preferred.

  • Requires technical knowledge of building maintenance and engineering trades.

  • Ability to operate computer equipment.

  • This role has direct contact with guests and as such, good communication skills are a necessity.

  • Fluency in English is required for this location, and this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the in the United States. Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
