The Student Support Services Administrative Assistant supports the Department of Student Support Services by providing high-quality administrative, operational, and data management support to staff, schools, and stakeholders of Murfreesboro City Schools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate or Bachelor's degree
  1. Prior experience in administrative, clerical, or records management roles

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace
  • Working knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS)
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot data
  • Understanding of FERPA and data confidentiality practices
  • Customer service orientation (important given stakeholder interaction)
  • Problem-solving and independent decision-making ability
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion

PRIMARY DUTIES: This position provides administrative, data management, and operational support to the Assistant Superintendent and Student Support Services team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. 1. Administrative Support
  • Draft, proofread, and edit correspondence, reports, memos, and other documents
  • Manage incoming communications; prioritize, summarize, and distribute as appropriate
  • Schedule meetings and events; prepare agendas and record/distribute meeting minutes
  • Maintain organized and accurate departmental records
  1. 2. Data Management & Compliance
  • Enter, maintain, and analyze data in SIS and other systems
  • Generate reports and support data-informed decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA and district data policies
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready records
  1. 3. Program & Department Support
  • Coordinate logistics for CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training, including materials and interpreter services
  • Support Tier III Attendance and Truancy Diversion Board meetings
  • Assist with McKinney-Vento program documentation and compliance
  • Maintain homeschool and zone waiver records and communications
  • Coordinate interpreter scheduling for schools
  • Support Coordinated School Health initiatives, events, and data entry
  • Assist with complaint intake (including Title IX), tracking, and documentation in accordance with district procedures
  1. 4. Operations & Financial Support
  • Assist with department budget tracking and purchasing processes
  • Order and maintain inventory of supplies and materials
  • Support research, reporting, and data compliance activities
  1. Other Duties
  1. Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and operations

STAFF RELATIONSHIP: Directly responsible to Assistant Superintendent, Student Support Services

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Full-Time 12-month.
  • Non-Exempt.
  • Salary and benefits determined annually by Murfreesboro City Schools.
