Job description

The Wellness Strategy Manager (WSM) is responsible for developing and executing client strategies that drive engagement, strengthen client relationships, and support long-term growth and retention. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and a consultative approach to understanding client needs, identifying opportunities, and delivering solutions that create measurable value. The WSM owns the client experience for their assigned book of business, maintaining accountability for client satisfaction, engagement performance, and proactive issue resolution. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective organization and prioritization, and the ability to collaborate across operational, technical, actuarial, and management teams to advance client goals. The WSM is expected to build trusted relationships with clients, vendors, brokers, and internal partners while demonstrating ownership, professionalism, and a growth-oriented focus in every interaction.

  • Design, present, and implement wellness program strategies aligned to client goals and member health outcomes.
  • Analyze participation and performance data regularly to drive engagement, satisfaction, retention, and profitability.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by articulating the Vitality value proposition through a consultative, solutions-based approach.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day client contact, proactively managing communications, expectations, and issue resolution.
  • Partner cross-functionally (e.g., operations, actuaries, management) to enhance and evolve client wellness programs year over year.
  • Advocate for clients internally, ensuring quality delivery, process adherence, and timely resolution of risks and escalations.
  • Manage multiple client accounts and projects while monitoring engagement, risks, opportunities, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and deliver client-facing communications, reports, training, and presentations related to program performance and enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, CRM records, and internal reporting to support transparency and operational alignment.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and adaptability skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Salary Range: $80,000-100,000 /annual

Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred, with 4+ years’ experience managing employer wellness or well‑being programs and driving participation
  • Proven ability to operate strategically and tactically with internal and external stakeholders, building strong, trusted relationships
  • Strong data analysis skills to inform engagement strategy, assess program effectiveness, and recommend enhancements
  • Demonstrated business acumen, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage senior and C‑suite audiences; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (required)

  • CCWS Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist 
  • Experience working with health plan
  • Previous experience as a dietician, health coach, or other related role
