Position Summary:

Under general supervision, supports the ongoing implementation and sustainment of health and safety programs focused on protecting workers by minimizing health and safety hazards at all company workplaces and project jobsites.

What You Will Do
  • Works closely with the Safety Director/Sr Safety Manager to continually increase safety awareness and eliminate unsafe behaviors
  • Assists with providing safety trainings
  • Travels to various jobsites and conducts jobsite safety audits and safety training
  • Ensures safety policies and procedures are OSHA/DOSH compliant
  • Maintains, tracks and monitors all incident and investigation reports
  • Assists with conducting incident investigations and equipment inspections
  • Identifies and recommends enhancements to PRIME's safety program
  • Conducts safety orientations for new employees and safety meetings for jobsites
  • Assists Foremen in safety processes related to the jobsite pre-task/JHA planning steps
  • Collaborates with Field personnel on ergonomics, material handling processes and other tasks that can be modified to simpler, quicker and safer processes
  • Provides support to the warehouse with safety equipment inspections and recertifications/calibrations of equipment
  • Adhere to the PRIME Safety Program, complying with safety regulations, procedures and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a physical presence onsite and regularly visit jobsites to oversee progress and provide assistance to the project management team as needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.ย 
  • Travel requirement: 20%ย 
What You Will Need to be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to support and manage safety on multiple project sites
  • OSHA 500 Certification
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certification
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments with changing conditions
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and observation abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

Special Requirements/Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in an outdoor field setting with occasional exposure to health or safety hazards such as, but not limited to, electrical hazards, water hazards, hazardous terrain, inclement weather conditions, traffic and loud noises.ย  Occasional operation of electrical field equipment.ย  Work may be performed in cramped or awkward positions.ย  Occasional climbing and/or lifting (30+ lbs.)ย  Travel required to work sites.ย  Frequent use of personal protective equipment (e.g. safety glasses, gloves, safety vests, hard hats and steel-toed boots).

Communication Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as submittals, operations manuals and project schedules.ย  Ability to write routine correspondence such as letters and memos.ย  Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and/or external clients of the firm.

Reasoning Ability and/or Critical Thinking:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.ย  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction.ย  Constructive thinking and alternative short- to long-term solutions must be considered.ย  Action plans must be developed and implemented.
