Job Summary
In this role, you will help keep construction activities on track by providing subcontractors and craft personnel with the guidance, technical direction, and contract information needed to execute work safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You will collaborate closely with the discipline engineer and superintendent to interpret technical requirements of the combined cycle construction project, resolve field issues, and support work across disciplines. You will also manage assigned subcontract administration responsibilities, address commercial matters, and, on smaller or less complex projects, may support project controls functions while maintaining full EPC responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and interpretation of design drawings, specifications, and overall combined cycle design requirements to subcontractors.
  • Support field execution by reviewing requests, maintaining records, and helping resolve design-related questions.
  • Administer assigned subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract documents, monitor construction activities against the project schedule, and prepare and issue extra work authorization requests as needed.
  • May also sign off on field designs or redesigns performed in the field.
  • Partner with the field administrator, as needed, to support smooth site operations. Maintain daily logs for site records and perform or direct quantity takeoffs to support construction planning and invoice approval.
  • Review subcontractor progress payment requests, monitor technical service representative and supplier logs, and approve submitted timesheets.
  • Compile and maintain construction records and list markups, and help establish site document control activities for design documents when needed.
  • Help ensure field teams are working from the latest IFC revisions and intermediate updates.
  • Support inspections and test verification activities, and provide supervision, training, development, and performance management for direct reports.
  • Champion safety and quality standards in all aspects of the work while contributing to continuous improvement efforts and change management initiatives.
  • Lead and support field discipline engineers, fostering strong performance, development, and collaboration across the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in combined cycle construction
  • Knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings, and related project documentation
  • Ability to set up and perform project controls functions on smaller, less complex projects
  • Experience completing material takeoffs and field estimates; strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations; discipline engineering experience; contract administration experience; and an understanding of craft dynamics.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing. 6+ yrs construction experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
