GEICO is looking for a Program Project Manager that operates autonomously to facilitate and manage the delivery of key initiatives for the corporate initiatives team with Product and TECH. This is a critical leadership role responsible for project managing all aspects of incoming marketing and communications requests from intake to delivery. The work of the Program Project Manager will drive strategic outcomes for GEICO corporate initiatives.

The Program Project Manager ESTABLISHES process for and OVERSEES the development of detailed project tasks and realistic timelines, ENSURES delivery by expected deadline, ADDRESSES project risks on an ongoing basis, and ESCALATES as needed. This person also ENSURES follow through on task assignments and communication throughout processes. Effective communication and collaboration will be critical in keeping a diverse set of stakeholders aligned and engaged to address delivery obstacles and meet business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assume the role of main point of contact for all team resource needs.

  • Establish Process for and Manages the streamlined intake, assignment, project planning, build and implementation of corporate initiatives

  • Develops detailed project tasks and realistic timelines, then Maintains all project timelines to ensure delivery by expected deadline

  • Schedule introductory and/or maintenance meetings to meet project plan and program deadline

  • Demonstrates an understanding of business, communications, technology, and creative processes across all applicable cross-functional teams, technologies, platforms and/or mediums.

  • Recognize team needs, regularly evaluates project planning processes, and Finds solution/ Makes recommendations to Optimize for efficiency. Works with appropriate department counterparts on opportunities

  • Implements and Facilitates streamlined review and approval processes with stakeholders as appropriate from intake through to completion.

  • OPERATES with an open-mind, flexibility and calmly through ambiguity and as challenges arise.

  • DEMONSTRATES an aptitude to troubleshoot issues as they arise while mitigating impact.

  • IDENTIFIES deficiencies and DETERMINES project risks on an ongoing basis, ESCALATING issues as needed. SCHEDULING necessary meetings, including weekly status and kick-off meetings, etc.

  • ASSUMES primary responsibility for formalizing the process of budget planning with accurate, functional and practical processes and LEADS the tracking, forecasting and reconciliation of expenses, escalating needs for approvals as necessary to meet project goals.

  • WORKS with Corporate Initiatives Director and other leadership to ensure planning and resourcing are in place to successfully deliver projects.

  • ADHERES to GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.

  • MEETS attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing and speaking

  • Must have strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to multi-task

  • Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

  • Must proactively employ problem-solving to identify and solve delivery obstacles and challenges

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have the ability to learn new platforms and applications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience in program/project management
Bachelor's degree required or relevant experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Insurance industry experience

Experience with agile and/or lean methodologies a plus
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Product Manager (CPM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFE Agilist, Lean Portfolio Management, or Azure certifications preferred

Annual Salary

$88,150.00 - $157,850.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
