Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing one of four Fleet Engineering Programs Areas to provide timely and cost-effective engineering services and technical support for the Vistra Nuclear Fleet. The position is based at Perry Nuclear Power Station and will manage program owners across all sites. This role ensures that code required inspections are implemented to maintain licensing bases for each site. The manager will represent the company in negotiating with regulators, contractors, and industry groups to achieve nuclear production objectives.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides leadership to Programs personnel
  • Maintains Nuclear Station design and licensing basis
  • Performs reviews of major Programs scope and codes
  • Resolves Condition Reports
  • Facilitates staffing activities
  • Directs the activities of the individual contributors within the group
  • Coordinates and plans large work-scope projects and task teams
  • Coordinates Programs baseline, O&M and Capital budgets
  • Prioritizes and approves group activities and work products
  • Allocates personnel and budget to complete engineering activities and meet Fleet goals
  • Provides timely resolution to technical problems to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operation
  • Provides engineering recommendations and priorities important to plant operations
  • Controls costs within approved budget limits
  • Interfaces with State and Federal regulators to demonstrate continued safe operation of the Nuclear Station

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

  • At least 5 years exp in nuclear power
  • BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Experience leading technical professionals, budgeting, planning, and scheduling
  • Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes, programs, and procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of nuclear codes, standards and regulations preferred
  • Nuclear Programs Engineering experience preferred
  • SRO Certification or License preferred
