Job Description

Turner & Townsendย are seeking an ambitious Seniorย Project Controls Managerย to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successful client delivery. This individual will assist in leading project controls services for major client accounts and will help with wider business initiatives if needed.

This is a hybrid role, requiring onsite presence a few days per week to support client and team collaboration. Candidates must be based in or willing to commute to Chandler, AZ.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project control strategies, processes, and procedures to optimize project performance and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.ย 
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and KPIs.ย 
  • Create detailed project schedules using industry-standard project management software, considering critical path analysis, resource allocation, and dependencies.ย 
  • Monitor and analyze project progress against established baselines, identifying deviations, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Take proactive measures to mitigate risks and address issues promptly.ย 
  • Conduct regular project status meetings with stakeholders, providing accurate and timely reports on project performance, including schedule adherence, cost variance, earned value, and risk assessment.ย 
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on project control best practices, including cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management.ย 
  • Develop and implement change management processes to assess and manage project scope changes, ensuring proper impact analysis, approval procedures, and documentation.ย 
  • Assist project teams in developing contingency plans, risk mitigation strategies, and recovery plans to address project challenges and ensure successful project outcomes.ย 
  • Support project managers in analyzing project data and generating reports to facilitate decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights into project performance.ย 
  • Train and mentor project team members on project control methodologies, tools, and techniques, fostering a culture of project control excellence within the organization.ย 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in project controls, and proactively apply this knowledge to enhance project management processes.ย 
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Project/Program specifications:

  • Experience working with semiconductor and/or high-tech manufacturing clients.
  • Experience with $1B+ Projects/Programs.
  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI, SAP Financial & CPM, Hexagon Ecosys, Oracle Primavera Unifier
  • Certifications in Power BI, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, accounting or finance or field related to construction.
  • Graduate degree in quantity surveying, cost management, construction management, or engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience working in a project controls role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.ย 
  • Strong understanding of project control principles, methodologies, and tools, including schedule development, cost control, risk management, and performance measurement.ย 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.ย 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and clients.ย 
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.ย 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and compliance frameworks relevant to the project domain.ย 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence and motivate project teams towards achieving project control objectives.ย
