The Manager, International Compliance & AML, Policy Management supports the effective management of the Bank's AML/ATF and Sanctions Program by providing policy advisory, regulatory interpretation, documentation oversight, and stakeholder coordination for international jurisdictions, with a focus on English and Spanish-speaking markets. The role helps ensure program requirements are clearly understood, consistently applied, and aligned with applicable regulations, internal policies, standards, and procedures.

The incumbent reports to the Senior Manager, International Compliance & AML, Policy Management and Regulatory Change Management and works with Global AML, business lines, control functions, and enterprise partners to strengthen policy governance and program execution.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Advise on the interpretation and application of AML/ATF and Sanctions requirements across international jurisdictions, including Spanish-speaking markets.
  • Monitor, assess, and translate regulatory developments into policy, procedural, documentation, and implementation impacts.
  • Assess regulatory requirements, regulatory change management, internal policies, standards, procedures, controls, and business processes to support consistent program execution and risk mitigation.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain AML/ATF and Sanctions policies, procedures, frameworks, governance artefacts, and related documentation.
  • Support governance forums, management reporting, issue escalation, and the preparation of briefing materials for senior stakeholders, as required.
  • Coordinate with First Line, Second Line, audit, regulatory change, and enterprise partners to address program priorities, issues, and emerging requirements.
  • Apply effective challenge to business processes, program documentation, and controls library to confirm alignment with established frameworks, methodologies, risk appetite, and control expectations.
  • Analyse information from multiple sources to identify risks, control gaps, issues, trends, and opportunities to improve policy governance, controls, and program sustainability.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance documentation, including obligations inventories, regulatory change materials, issue records, quality controls/assessments, and supporting evidence.
  • Support initiatives that improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the AML/ATF and Sanctions Program.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • University degree in Risk Management, Compliance, Law, Public Policy, Audit, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Years of progressive experience in AML/ATF, sanctions, financial crimes compliance, regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, regulatory governance, or a related discipline.
  • English and Spanish fluency are required, including the ability to read and interpret regulatory materials; draft, review, and refine policy content; speak with jurisdictional stakeholders; and translate complex regulatory and policy concepts clearly between Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of banking or financial institution products, business processes, control environments, and compliance risk management.
  • Strong risk and control mindset, including the ability to identify control gaps, assess policy implications, apply effective challenge, and recommend practical remediation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior and cross-functional audiences.
  • Clear, precise, and structured written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with high attention to detail.
