Job Description
Responsible for overseeing the direct and/or indirect care of trauma patients utilizing an in-depth professional knowledge of trauma care. Accountable for the monitoring, coordination and evaluation of patient care systems, development of collaborative relationships across the spectrum of trauma care and compliance with trauma accreditation standards for the trauma program.
Masters level education required. Minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience. Experience in emergency surgical or critical care nursing with a focus on the management of the traumatically injured patient. Demonstrated ability to interpret data for ensuring the fulfillment of the goals and objectives of the Trauma Division, Nursing Department and mission of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Ability to utilize critical thinking and leadership skills to develop liaison relationships with all departments and personnel involved in the care of trauma patients. Ability to collaborate with all departments and personnel of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University to assure optimal healthcare delivery for all trauma patients. Demonstrated administrative and financial knowledge to operate the trauma program and its system of care. Ability to collaborate with and support the goals of the Trauma Division, Department of Nursing of the Health Services Division and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
