About This Role
The Textron Systems Weapons division is seeking a Sr. Program Manager to lead a team of Project & Program Managers in development of a major strategic weapon system. The ideal candidate is a well-established leader of people with a technical background and strong programmatic foundation. This Sr. Program Manager is expected to translate strategic vision into program execution, maintain a high level of excellence for the team, and demonstrate unwavering commitment to serving the warfighter.

Responsibilities:

We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the financial, technical, and schedule requirements of a major weapon system to deliver products that are technically acceptable on-time and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Understanding Earned Value (EV) techniques to maintain a rigorous Performance Measurement Baseline, robust explanations of high-level cost / schedule variances, and an accurate Estimate at Complete (EAC).
  • Applying resources to work Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) driving path actions and ensuring on-time completion of major program milestones.
  • Understanding the full risk & opportunity space for development of the weapon system and proactively mitigating risk.
  • Building rapport with internal support functions / stakeholders and interfacing with external customers.
  • Coordinating internal leadership program reviews and formal customer events with high quality briefing materials.
  • Growing and developing Project Manager and Program Manager direct reports.
  • Following program management processes, plans and procedures to ensure execution to AS9100 Quality certification requirements and Textron best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences preferred; Business, Supply Chain, or similar discipline acceptable
  • 10 years of relevant experience in the Defense industry
  • 5 years of Program Management experience on Defense Programs
  • 2 years of experience managing people
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional partners including engineering, contracts, finance, scheduling, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality
  • Experience evaluating program Risks and Opportunities
  • Execution of full Earned Value Management System programs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; proficiency in MS office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and strategically
  • Proposal development experience
  • Understanding of DoW contracts and FAR / DFARS
  • This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a Secret level security clearance. Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification or equivalent
  • Active Secret / Top Secret Clearance
