Facilities Building Manager
This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.
Cherokee Federal is seeking a highly motivated Facilities Building Manager to support the Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) Facilities Department at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans (MCSF-NOLA). The selected candidate will assist with the planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and closeout of facilities maintenance, repair, and construction projects that support MARFORRES mission requirements. Responsibilities include managing facility service requests, coordinating with government personnel and contractors, tracking project progress, resolving facility-related issues, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and mission-ready in support of MARFORRES operations and strategic objectives.

Facilities Building Manager Responsibilities Include:
  • Submit, track and report on the status of work request tickets for MCSF-NOLA; assist in the planning and coordination of work ticket resolution.
  • Advises and provides guidance and technical assistance on routine and emergency maintenance matters. Initiates, manages, provides guidance on facility work tickets for remote sites throughout the respective region utilizing MFR Share Point work ticket system.
  • Liaison between the Facilities Building Manager and MARFORRES site leadership, unit's chain of command; liaison includes the host service / organization, internal (Major Subordinate Commands) & external commands, agencies, leadership, civilian & military employees, contract employees, and MFR divisions (FAC, G-3, G- 4, G-6, & G-8 departments);
  • Participate in weekly client meetings with MCSF Tenant Commands & Facility (FAC) staff to review and reconcile all facility trouble / work tickets in SharePoint for MCSF; Participate in client facility planning meetings as required.
  • Review as-built drawings to assist with requirements and project scope development for MCSF.
  • Prepares weekly synopsis of work in-progress, status of FSRM and MILCON projects, open work request tickets, and all other challenges and issues for all MFR sites in assigned region. Attends weekly and ad-hoc meetings held by the AC/S, Deputy, OpsO or PWD to review current and emergent facilities service and maintenance challenges and requirements.
  • Coordinate access and oversight of work being performed at MCSF by external contractors to repair/replace mechanical equipment, walls, doors, ceilings, furniture, fixtures, telecommunications, ATFP, IDS, ESS, and other systems and equipment that is associated with maintaining a safe, secure, and function facility.
  • Facilitate contractor's access as necessary to troubleshoot or repair/replace equipment/systems at MCSF NOLA, QTRS A facility.
  • Coordinate with each subject matter expert of supporting actions or services and assists in preliminary preparation of required documentation.
  • Receive project warranty information for each project that has undergone new or upgraded construction, and post data onto Facilities SharePoint for future reference.
  • Maintain a record of project progress and coordinate key milestone dates with external Project Managers and associated team members.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Facilities Building Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; PMP or CFM certification or relevant facilities/project management experience may be substituted in lieu of education requirements.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience supporting facilities operations, facilities management, construction coordination, project management, or infrastructure sustainment programs. (U.S. Marine Corp. experience is preferred & highly desired).
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), NAVFAC, USACE, or other federal facilities programs highly desired.
  • Knowledge of Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (FSRM) programs and facility maintenance management processes preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written
  • Strong understanding of facility operations, maintenance processes, construction coordination, and project tracking methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, facility plans, project schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and project tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • On-site work.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
