Manager - Data & Analytics Engineering
Job Description:
The Manager - Data & Analytics Engineering leads teams responsible for delivering enterprise reporting, analytics, and modern data platform capabilities that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
This role manages a cross-functional team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and BI developers responsible for building and operating the company's modern data platform. The role also oversees development of the organization's enterprise analytics and semantic data layer, ensuring consistent business definitions and trusted metrics across reporting, analytics, and data science solutions.
This position focuses on guiding architecture decisions, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring reliable delivery and operational support of data and analytics solutions. It requires sufficient technical depth to guide architecture and engineering practices, while primarily focusing on team leadership and delivery management rather than hands-on development.
What You'll Be Doing:
Data Platform & Engineering Leadership
  • Lead teams responsible for developing and operating the organization's Azure-based data platform leveraging Databricks and lakehouse architecture.
  • Oversee development of scalable data ingestion pipelines, transformation workflows, and curated datasets using modern data engineering and analytics engineering practices.
  • Establish engineering standards for data pipelines, data transformations, monitoring, testing, and deployment.

Analytics Engineering & Data Modeling
  • Guide development of curated analytical data models and transformation frameworks.
  • Ensure consistent business metrics, dimensional models, and reusable datasets are developed to support reporting and analytics.
  • Promote development of well-documented enterprise data products that support multiple analytical use cases.

Business Intelligence & Reporting
  • Oversee development and governance of Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Ensure reporting assets deliver accurate and consistent insights across business functions.
  • Support adoption of self-service analytics capabilities while maintaining strong governance and data consistency.

Production Support & Operational Reliability
  • Ensure ongoing production support for the data platform, data pipelines, and reporting environments.
  • Establish processes for incident management, issue resolution, and root cause analysis related to data and reporting issues.
  • Monitor data pipeline performance, reporting availability, and data quality to ensure reliable analytics delivery.
  • Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to prioritize and resolve production incidents and support requests.

Business Partnership & Delivery
  • Partner with business leaders and SMEs to understand reporting and analytics needs.
  • Ensure teams effectively translate business requirements into scalable data models and reporting solutions.
  • Manage delivery priorities, project backlogs, and stakeholder communications.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and BI developers.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Guide technical decision-making while ensuring teams follow established development standards and best practices.

What We Are Looking For:
  • 8+ years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, analytics, or related technical roles
  • 2-4 years managing technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting distribution, logistics, or supply chain analytics environments is preferred.
  • Experience managing technical teams delivering data engineering, analytics, or BI solutions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive delivery across multiple initiatives.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong understanding of modern data and analytics technologies including:
    • Azure data platform
    • Databricks and lakehouse architecture
    • dbt or analytics engineering frameworks
    • Power BI and enterprise reporting platforms
    • Data modeling and dimensional design
    • ETL / ELT pipeline development

Work Arrangement: Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday required office days for Panorama Office site; Monday, Friday-work from home.
