Job Number & Title: 320 – Security Officer Intern

Department #/Location: 206 – Security Office
FLSA Status: Seasonal; Hourly; Exempt
Reports To: Security Manager Area Manager and/or Team Leader
Responsible For: N/A
Educations & Qualifications: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to comply with Child Labor Laws. Must provide documentation of obtaining a state drivers license recognized by the Commonwealth of PA to operate a DAP-owned or controlled golf cart. Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. Currently enrolled in a post secondary education program in Criminal Justice, Public Health & Safety or closely related field. Security experience is preferred but not required. Must have a positive attitude, work in a team atmosphere, work well in stressful situations and always maintain a professional image. Must be organized, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to follow and enforce policies and procedures.
Summary: Create and maintain a safe and friendly environment for both guests and employees. A front line position that interacts with guests daily.
Essential Functions:

  • Ensure extraordinary guest service by providing positive interactions with guests and fellow Team Members in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Complete patrol rounds through the Park and also work assigned areas as needed to enforce Park rules and regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Park rules and regulations and how to enforce them.
  • Complete money transports to and from the Office.
  • Work the side parking booth by politely directing guest’s appropriate areas to park.
  • Respond to all distress calls or emergency calls and secure the scene.
  • Assist lost guests in reuniting them with their party safely.
  • May travel for work by personal vehicle as needed.
  • Operate golf carts in accordance with company and department policies and procedures.
  • Report any damage or unsafe conditions to the Security Manager or Team Leader on duty.
  • In the absence of the Security Manager, report any major issues to the Director of Operations or Chief Operating Officer.
  • Answer guest questions or find out answers for them when possible.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and protect employee, customer, and consumer confidentiality.
  • Report to and from work at assigned time.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Must be honest and reliable.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Provide help and support to co-workers on an ongoing basis.
  • Adhere to dress code policy.
