Fairstead ESC LLC

New York, NY

Full-time

Posted 20 days ago

Job description

Fairstead is a purpose-driven real estate firm dedicated to building affordable communities across the country. Headquartered in New York, with offices in Colorado, Florida, and Washington DC, Fairstead owns and manages a portfolio of more than 30,000 apartments, including pipeline, across 28 states. As an integrated owner, operator, and innovator, Fairstead brings development, construction, and property management under one unified platform to deliver high-quality affordable housing that serves our residents at scale.

At Fairstead, we believe affordable housing should be thoughtfully designed, professionally managed, and responsibly operated. We seek to create and preserve housing that serves residents while delivering long-term value to communities, partners, and stakeholders.

Fairstead challenges industry norms through our tech-forward, entrepreneurial approach to affordable housing. In addition to core real estate capabilities, we operate innovative service lines designed to improve resident outcomes, strengthen communities, and drive operational efficiency. We embrace digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and emerging technologies, including AI, to build scalable systems that support sustainable growth, grounded in a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, partnership, dedication, and integrity.

We are seeking a Senior NetSuite Implementation & Systems Lead to own the strategy, deployment, customization, and continuous optimization of Oracle NetSuite across our finance, project accounting, and real estate functions. This is a senior hands-on leadership role for a seasoned professional who brings deep ERP expertise, cross-functional influence, and a sharp understanding of complex real estate operational workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the internal NetSuite program owner, setting the long-term ERP roadmap and governance framework aligned with organizational growth and real estate portfolio expansion.
  • Lead and manage end-to-end NetSuite implementation projects — including scoping, solution design, configuration, UAT, and go-live — across multiple business units and entity structures, with accountability for timeline, budget, and outcomes.
  • Architect and configure core modules — General Ledger, AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, and Multi-Book Accounting — to reflect the full complexity of real estate development workflows, including ground-up construction, JV structures, and stabilized assets.
  • Design and build advanced custom records, fields, saved searches, KPI scorecards, and executive dashboards tailored to real estate performance metrics and investor reporting requirements.
  • Architect end-to-end workflows and automations governing construction draw requests, job cost tracking, lender compliance reporting, and vendor payment approval chains — with audit controls and exception handling built in.
  • Design and implement sophisticated job costing and project accounting frameworks that support the full development lifecycle across pre-development, construction, lease-up, and stabilized asset phases.
  • Lead the design of intercompany transaction workflows and consolidation structures to support complex NYC real estate entity hierarchies (LLCs, JVs, partnerships, funds), ensuring compliance with GAAP and investor reporting standards.
  • Own the integration strategy and execution connecting NetSuite with platforms such as Yardi, RealPage, Procore, lender portals, title and escrow systems, payroll providers, and document management platforms — including vendor evaluation, API architecture decisions, and ongoing integration health monitoring.
  • Lead enterprise data migrations from legacy systems, define data governance policies, and establish ongoing data quality standards and controls across the NetSuite environment.
  • Build and execute a structured change management and training program across finance, accounting, construction, and asset management teams; act as the senior internal subject matter expert, escalation point, and thought leader for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate, onboard, and manage external NetSuite implementation partners or consultants as needed, providing technical oversight and ensuring deliverable quality.
  • Partner with CFO, Controller, and senior leadership to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions and provide strategic recommendations on ERP capabilities and roadmap prioritization.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of hands-on NetSuite implementation and administration experience, including multiple full-cycle enterprise deployments in real estate, construction, or asset-intensive industries.
  • Demonstrated experience leading ERP programs at a senior or principal level, including managing cross-functional stakeholders and external implementation partners.
  • Expert-level understanding of real estate project accounting, construction cost management, fund structures, and complex multi-entity ownership hierarchies.
  • Deep experience with multi-subsidiary, multi-currency, multi-book, and intercompany NetSuite environments at scale.
  • Proven track record designing and managing NetSuite integrations with industry platforms (Yardi, Procore, RealPage, or equivalent).
  • NetSuite Administrator and/or ERP Consultant certification required; SuiteFoundation or SuiteCloud Developer certification strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Salary Range
