Job description

Tolland Public Schools is seeking to fill an Associate Behavior Intervention Specialistย position.ย 
Job Summary:ย 

  • Crisis team responder to daily behavior management and physical intervention within a clinical day treatment program
  • Implementation and fidelity of proactive behavior management strategies, as designed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Direct individualized support services to children with significant social, emotional and behavioral needs in a school setting
  • Implement positive behavior support plans and follow all policies and protocols for crises and de-escalation strategies
  • Collect ongoing, timely, accurate data on behavior
  • Assist in implementation of individualized education plans including academics and social skills
  • Carry out other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Pupil Services or their designee
  • Maintain student confidentiality


Qualifications:ย 

  • Experience working with children with emotional behavioral disorders, developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders desired, ABA experience a plus
  • Experience in implementation and fidelity of proactive behavioral strategies.
  • Willing to learn and ability to implement crisis de-escalation strategies and physical management techniques as necessary
  • Ability to independently carry out daily responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with educational teams
  • Able to access and be competent with basic computer software including Google Suite
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Working Conditions: Non-certified position. 10 Month Position.ย  Hourly Rate is $23.91.ย  Health, Vision, Dental and Life Insurance Coverage is offered as well as a 401A retirement plan.ย  And Paid holidays and paid time off.ย
