Job description

Corvid's Finance & Accounting team is adding a dedicated Financial Analyst to work with our Huntsville-based MDS Products group. The role will report directly to our Program Finance team but partner with group leadership and program managers in Huntsville to ensure projects are proceeding on budget as well as meeting internal financial estimates.
This role will develop into a key member of MDS' program team, using corporate tools and resources to help the team understand forecasting and financial execution of programs. Candidate will bring a strong understanding of program controls, general understanding of government contracting, and the ability to develop financial models and reports based on corporate guidance and program requirements.
Tasking will include:
  • Review incurred costs and forecast future expenditures using labor productivity, material price forecasts, subcontract agreements, and other relevant data to provide timely financial updates to program leadership
  • Developing project budgets, baselines, and funding, including calculating estimates to complete (ETC/EAC) - while considering schedules and deliverables
  • Support pricing and proposal activities - specifically working as the POC between corporate pricing and program management for smaller, quick turn cost estimates
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and control of work breakdown structures (WBS) and project set-up activities to ensure compliant cost charging, billing, and revenue recognition

Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business (or relevant discipline) and at least 1 year of experience in program controls or related role supporting a federal contractor (additional experience may substitute for degree)
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office
  • Preferred candidate will have a strong analytical ability, including using scripting tools to develop relevant financial reports
  • Experience with Deltek is a plus
