Job description

The Program Director will lead and oversee a Cybersecurity/Security Operations Center (SOC) program, ensuring the delivery of mission-critical cybersecurity services, adherence to SLAs, and alignment with evolving threat landscapes. They will drive strategic planning, team leadership, and program execution while fostering strong stakeholder relationships and advancing innovative, high-impact security solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, cultivate, and manage stakeholder relationships, maintaining strong collaboration and clear communication with government contracting officers and Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs) to ensure alignment on priorities, deliverables, and Cybersecurity/SOC program execution.
  • Build, lead, and support high-performing teams by fostering collaboration, accountability, and empowerment; hold personnel accountable, remove operational roadblocks, leverage organizational resources, and participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve project and operational processes, championing best practices in Cybersecurity and/or SOC program management while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Prioritize, lead, and manage cybersecurity/SOC tasking and operations, including incident response, monitoring, and operational activities, ensuring timely execution and alignment with mission objectives and service levels.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and manage scope changes, and identify, manage, and escalate program risks and issues to appropriate stakeholders, ensuring proactive mitigation in a dynamic threat environment.
  • Gather and translate business and mission requirements into technical and operational solutions that enhance cybersecurity/SOC capabilities.
  • Provide regular status reporting and briefings to leadership, ensuring transparency into cybersecurity/SOC operations, performance metrics, and program health; report to a MetroStar Director for strategic guidance, support, and resources.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in a Program Director/Manager role, delivering Agile programs with an emphasis on Cybersecurity and/or Security Operations Center (SOC) initiatives.
  • Strong ability to strategize, plan, lead, organize, and motivate cross-functional teams in high-tempo Cybersecurity and/or SOC environment, with experience overseeing program financials, resource allocation, and workforce planning for IT and cybersecurity programs.
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex IT programs for Federal clients across cybersecurity, new capability development, and system modernization (including big data platforms and multi-system integrations).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including mentoring, coaching, collaboration, team building, and the ability to brief senior stakeholders and translate technical concepts into operational impact.
  • A plus if you've managed initiatives incorporating AI/ML capabilities for cybersecurity operations and analytics.

MetroStar offers a competitive base salary and a robust performance-based incentive program designed to reward successful executive search outcomes, strategic leadership hires, university recruiting success, and military transition program conversions.

  • Base Salary Range: $174,000 - $210,000.
  • Total compensation: Potential is expected to range from $200,000 to $240,000 annually based on performance.

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including: 

  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
