Program Coordinator – Healthcare Education & Community Engagement


Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Schedule: 35 hours per week | Tuesday-Thursday onsite

Duration: 6-Month Contract


About the Opportunity


Our client is seeking a Program Coordinator to support an innovative healthcare education initiative focused on engaging medical students and residents through a dynamic virtual community. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys coordinating programs, building online communities, and providing exceptional administrative support.


The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with experience managing digital engagement, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting mission-driven initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for a professional education and engagement program.
  • Coordinate communications with external platform vendors, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and ongoing collaboration.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of an online community platform by:
  • Posting content and announcements
  • Monitoring member discussions
  • Coordinating virtual events and updates
  • Tracking user participation and engagement
  • Monitor and respond to a shared program inbox, ensuring timely communication and follow-up.
  • Maintain departmental databases and records while handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Assist with program coordination, reporting, and other administrative projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful program operations and participant engagement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant administrative, program coordination, or community engagement experience.
  • Experience supporting digital communities, online engagement initiatives, or social networking platforms is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Google Workspace
  • Virtual meeting platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
  • Experience with online community management platforms is a plus.


Preferred Background

  • Experience working in a nonprofit, association, healthcare, education, or mission-driven organization is preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting online engagement initiatives, professional development programs, or educational communities is a plus.
