Job description

Essential Functions of Job (reason job exists):

1. Ensuring the facility complies with the State Department of Mental Health regulations (e.g., Title 22:72001 - 22:72713)

2. In charge of the day-to-day operations of the unit.

Job Qualification:

1. At least 5 years of experience with mentally ill adults, preferably within a forensic mental health setting.

2. Completion of a Graduate Degree Program in Psychology or Social Work.

3. At least 1 year Mental Health Supervisory experience.

4. Experience in the assessment and diagnosis of individuals with severe mental illness.

Essential Functions of Job:

1. Duties and responsibilities assigned for the safe and continued management of the operations of the facility in assistance to the Program Director.

2. Available and on-call 24/7. In assistance to the Program Director, work on the weekends and late nights for emergency situations to ensure the safety of the facility, it’s employees, and residents if needed.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate and coordinate unit treatment groups. Ensure group quality for forensic, clinical, and community integration focus related to the goals of the program for transition to community outpatient treatment.

2. Assist in Group Scheduling and ensure Group Schedule is executed in accordance with the facility contract/expectations.

3. Ensure Treatment Plans and Quarterly Assessments are completed as per regulations. Review for quality related risk responsivity and community integration.

4. Assist the Program Director in personnel administration (e.g., hiring, scheduling, personnel relations, personnel policies.).

5. Assist the Program Director in administrative supervision of the Program Staff and Program Supervisors.

6. Assist the Program Director coordinate assessments of referrals.

7. Assist the Program Director supervise the coordination of both Admissions and Discharges. Ensuring requested documents have been submitted, transportation has been arranged and all parties have been contacted.

8. Assist the Program Director coordinate resident testing for CFAP assessments (California Forensic Assessment Project – referral-based psychological assessment service provided by the State of California CONREP for referral questions such as determination of intellectual functioning, personality, diagnostic clarification).

9. In the absence of the Program Director attend CONREP/DSH quarterly regional meetings at the State Hospitals for the State of CONREP status reports.

10. Assist the Program Director coordinate resident clinical meetings: Weekly staffings, Treatment Plan Development and Review, Interdisciplinary Team Meetings with psychiatrist and other team members.

11. Assist the Program Director collaborate with other disciplines as it relates to resident care / program.

12. Assist the Program Director report unit affairs to Administrator and Director of Nursing.

13. Performance of other duties as assigned by the Administrator and/or Program Director.

14. Crisis Intervention on an as-needed basis.

15. Report to Facility Administrator and Director of Nursing as requested.
