Job Description

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Associate Director, Data Strategy and Management in Horsham, PA. This role will lead and coordinate activities related to the consumption and transformation of data using AI to support the data strategy, AI platforms, context layer, AI initiatives, incentive compensation, field and home office reporting, market analysis, analytics, and forecasting for our Immunology portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Apply organizational AI initiatives to lead the ongoing quality and application of JJIM data pipeline supporting the sales and marketing organization, ensuring highโ€‘quality data.
  • Act as the key contact within the StAT organization for dataโ€‘related needs, queries, and issues and advise business teams on the best data sources to leverage for a given business question or insight.
  • Lead the data governance program of the assigned product portfolio; actively supervise data quality and apply AI to resolve dataโ€‘related issues and disruptions.
  • Lead data onboarding, change management, issue resolution, and data integration projects โ€“ build project plans, perform validation, and carry out organizational change activities.
  • Lead dataโ€‘centric projects to resolution through resource management, execution, and communication (e.g., data onboarding, data events/disruptions).
  • Collaborate with internal business partners on data validation and coordination activities for fieldโ€‘based incentiveโ€‘compensation internal reports/systems (sales reporting and sales forecasting).
  • Engage business process owners to align on action plans for mitigating data events/changes on commercial operations processes (e.g., Incentive Compensation, Sales Forecasting).
  • Lead annual data purchase budgets for the assigned portfolio, build purchase orders, and collaborate with finance, procurement, and business owners on spend supervision.
  • Maintain inventory of purchased data and promote organizational awareness and educational initiatives of data applications.
  • Lead the evaluation of new data sources that may provide insights, competitive advantage, and help advise future data strategy.
  • Ensure data vendors align with service level agreements (SLAs) by ensuring data quality, timely delivery, error reporting, time to resolution of inquiries, and account services compliance.
  • Implement a sophisticated AI QC detection system (new/improved capability) to identify granular data gaps and address data quality issues at all processing and transformation stages.
  • Apply AIโ€‘driven anomaly detection to identify granular data gaps using AI QC platforms.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Validated 10+ years in roles related to data management, analytics, insights, or other commercial excellence areas within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business, Technology, Analytics or Health Sciences (required). Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Proficient in pharma industry syndicated/secondary data from leading vendors such as IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony, SPP, patient claims, RWE/HEOR, IDN/ACO affiliations.
  • Previous experience establishing and leading data partnerships with external vendors.
  • Strong grasp of data analytics, AI, and machine learning concepts and their application to business operations.
  • Knowledge of data querying and BI tools that allow effective management of large data sets (required).
  • Understanding of data governance standard methodologies, and strong knowledge of data lifecycle, quality, metadata, and management.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, problemโ€‘solving, and decisionโ€‘making abilities based on meticulous data analysis and interpretation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and capacity to collaborate across crossโ€‘functional teams and work well with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and industryโ€‘specific compliance considerations.

Additional Description for Pay Transparency

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $122,000 to $212,750 USD.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, shortโ€‘ and longโ€‘term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees are eligible to participate in the companyโ€™s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). The position is eligible for the companyโ€™s longโ€‘term incentive program.

Time off benefits:

  • Vacation โ€“ 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time โ€“ 40 hours per calendar year (56 hours for employees residing in Washington state)
  • Holiday pay (including floating holidays) โ€“ 13 days per calendar year
