DASAโ€™s comprehensive adaptive training and sports programs have enhanced our athletes abilities to gain strength, endurance, increased motor skills, confidence, and improved emotional well-being. Role Description The Program Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in St. Peters, MO, with a combination of on-site work at program locations and some work-from-home flexibility. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of adaptive sports and fitness programs, ensuring they run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with DASAโ€™s mission. Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling and organizing activities, managing program logistics, and maintaining clear communication with athletes, families, volunteers, and partner organizations. The Program Manager monitors participant needs, supports coaches and staff, manages registration and attendance, and tracks program outcomes and feedback. Additional responsibilities include assisting with outreach, supporting fundraising and events, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to continuous improvement of program quality and accessibility.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned recreation and competition programs, including scheduling, participant communication, program development, and oversight of staff, volunteers, and budgets.
  • Recruit, retain, and support athlete participation through data-informed outreach, engagement, and development strategies.
  • Conduct athlete assessments, document participant needs, and maintain accurate athlete records and program data.
  • Plan and manage recurring events, clinics, adaptive fitness opportunities, disability awareness programs, and other program initiatives surrounding assigned sport programs.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, and evaluate interns while managing the organization's internship program.
  • Maintain and manage program equipment inventory, including purchasing, tracking, maintenance, and replacement planning.
  • Develop and administer surveys and analyze participation data to support program evaluation, budgeting, grant reporting, and organizational planning.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of marketing and promotional materials for programs, events, and organizational initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures, including athlete, coach, staff, and volunteer codes of conduct.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and outreach opportunities to promote DASA's mission and programs.
  • Maintain applicable sport-specific certifications and participate in continuing education and professional development.
  • Provide operational support for recreation programs, competitions, special events, and other organization-wide initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the Program Director and cross-functional staff to provide updates on program operations, progress, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

  • Commitment to a safe, inclusive work environment and adherence to organizational policies and values.
  • Annual renewal of CPR, AED, First Aid, and SafeSport certifications. 


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Recreation Therapy, Exercise Science, Sport Management, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-3 years experience in program management or related field.
  • Competency working in web-based and computer applications.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening. 


Preferred Qualification

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
  • Knowledge of specific physical disabilities and diagnoses. 


Working Conditions

  • Ability to travel as needed to support programming.
  • Night and weekend availability required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to drive a pickup truck or van with attached trailer to transport equipment.


Starting Salary: $45,000-55,000 (commensurate with experience)
