Job Title: Program Leader
Location: Tidewater, VA
Position Type: Hybrid (3-4 hours on-site, 2-3 hours remote daily)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (July 13 - July 17)
Reports To: Program Director or Regional Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and experienced Program Leader to oversee all youth programs operating within the Tidewater area. This hybrid position combines on-site presence (3-4 hours/day) with remote work (2-3 hours/day), supporting a wide range of enrichment programs for students across multiple school sites. The Program Leader serves as a key liaison between school staff, instructors, parents, and the leadership team, ensuring program excellence, compliance, and coordination district-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of all youth programs within schools.
  • Supervise and support instructors, facilitators, and on-site staff to ensure quality program delivery.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between program staff, district representatives, and families.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, resolve on-site issues, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and district guidelines.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and logistics coordination for multiple school sites.
  • Review and analyze program data, attendance, and feedback to make informed decisions.
  • Provide on-site support during critical times and complete administrative tasks remotely.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and ongoing evaluation of staff.
  • Communicate updates and reports to senior leadership on program performance.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and responsive program culture across all locations.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in management, preferably in educational or youth-focused programs.
  • 2-5 years of experience working directly with youth in educational, afterschool, or recreational settings.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and programs across different locations.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with hybrid work (Zoom, Google Workspace, email, scheduling tools, etc.).
  • Self-starter with strong time-management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliable transportation for daily on-site visits within the district.
  • Must pass a background check and meet district clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a school district or similar educational setting.
  • Degree or coursework in education, child development, program management, or a related field.
