SUMMARY:

The Happy Glaze Program Associate (HGPA) serves as the first point of contact for participants in Happy Glaze ceramics painting programs. This role is responsible for restocking shelves for purchase/selection, restocking supplies as needed throughout the program, assisting participants throughout the activity, and  providing additional assistance when required. The HGPA also ensures participants understand  the correct process by which to paint and glaze their items, suggesting techniques and artistic materials available to assist participants in achieving their desired results.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

  • Assist with preparing the room for each  Happy Glaze session by stocking shelves, paint and supplies cupboard, setting up tables with all the necessary materials, appropriate paperwork, and any other required items.
  • Greet participants with a warm smile and demeanor. Direct them to a work area to leave their belongings, guide them in selecting their items, and retrieve  additional stock from the storeroom as needed during a session. 
  • Guide participants with respect to paint color choices, color density, stencils and  other available tools and techniques.
  • Circulate from one group to the other to ensureparticipants are  following the rules of the room and applying paint appropriately for best results.
  • Ensure all items are glazed appropriately before a group leaves, and that each group cleans up their workspace.
  • Ensure the room is cleaned up at the end of the each program, including securing all shelving and cupboards.
  • Perform other duties as needed for successful running of a Happy Glaze program.

 WHO YOU ARE:

  • Availability on Sundays, Saturday nights, weekday afternoons, and weekday evenings to be coordinated with the scheduled dates and times. Happy Glaze sessions may range from one and as many as five Happy Glaze programs per month, with each HG session requiring 5-8 hours of work time, depending on the event.
  • A pleasant demeanor with the ability to engage comfortably  with children and adults of all ages.
  • Ability to multi-task and to remain calm in busy, high-pressure situations.
  • Neat and professional appearance appropriate for a customer-facing role.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

 

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be on their feet for long periods of time and/or walking around the room.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The work environment may be fast paced and requires high energy and interaction with others. The workspace may be noisy, at times.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary (or Salary Range): $15/hour
