Position Title: Open Rank Professor of Sociology
Location: Jamestown, North Dakota
Employment Type: Full-time, 9-month Faculty position

The University of Jamestown, a private Christian liberal arts university founded in 1883, invites applications for an Open Rank Professor of Sociology, beginning August 2026. We seek a dynamic scholar-teacher committed to excellence in undergraduate education, research, and service within our faith-based community. This role emphasizes innovative teaching in core sociology topics, including deviance, social problems, and writing to provide a strong theoretical base for students as the progress into specialized criminal justice coursework. The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate programs and interdisciplinary initiatives in social sciences and public service. Relocation assistance is available.

  • Collaborate with local criminal justice agencies for experiential learning opportunities.

  • Master's degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field.
