UCT is looking for a talented Technical Professional to join us in Chandler, AZ! The Technical Professional (Robotic Manufacturing Technician) supports advanced manufacturing operations through the setup, programming, operation, and maintenance of robotic systems used in welding, grinding, painting, laser, and finishing processes. This role provides hands-on technical expertise to ensure reliable robotic performance, quality output, and efficient production. By developing robotic programs, work instructions, and training materials, troubleshooting complex systems, and collaborating closely with Manufacturing Engineering, the technician helps drive process standardization, continuous improvement, and safe, high-quality manufacturing execution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create and support robotic programs for production processes.
  • Utilize robotic software package (i.e., Robot Studio) to program offline as required.
  • Maintain all applicable SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Provide specific, documented hands-on training for all technicians in the cell.
  • Ensure all processes and BKM's are followed correctly through periodic process audits.
  • Performs basic mechanical assemblies & sub-assemblies.
  • Operates hand and power tools to complete assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of AWS welding symbols required. Basic knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
  • Ability to perform welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test.
  • Basic math skills; must be able to perform conversions and basic calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willingness to learn.
  • Interacts with management and team members to encourage effective communication on production floor.
  • Performs standard testing and minor and major troubleshooting.
  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout all steps of the assembly process.
  • Works with 5S & Visual Controls.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Attendance is an essential job function.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in advanced assembly, general inspection and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems (i.e., Robotics).
  • Advanced Mechanical background with strong knowledge of historical and current assemblies and manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to read assembly prints and electrical schematics, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of cable routing, harness configuration, soldering, wiring & crimping standards.
  • General knowledge of operating hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools.
  • Basic GD&T knowledge a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focused and a quick learner.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external contacts.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficient with running reports from MRP and quality databases.
1 In Arizona this is considered a Safety Sensitive Position Educational/Certification Requirement:
  • Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Welding Inspection (CWI) certification a plus.
  • Working knowledge and/or certificate of completion of Robotic programming software (i.e., Robot Studio).
Experience Requirement: Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in TIG and MIG welding with 3 years sheet metal and structural tubing of close tolerance parts or equivalent advanced education.
  • 1+ years of experience of robotic programming.
