Essential Job Duties
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at NC State is seeking a creative and skilled Videographer to bring CVM's stories to life. The Videographer captures and produces compelling video that tells the many stories of the College of Veterinary Medicine and communicates the CVM and NC State brand for use on the web, social media, at events, and in the media.
The Videographer owns the visual craft of video production, including planning and setting up shots, lighting, conducting and recording interviews, operating cameras, and recording and mixing sound in field, clinical, and studio settings.
The person in this role edits and assembles footage into finished pieces, applying color correction, audio mixing, and basic graphics as needed, and works professionally and with discretion around animals, patients, and clients in clinical, teaching, and research environments.
This position partners with communications colleagues and producers to execute productions from concept through delivery, and works independently on smaller productions. The role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while also working independently, demonstrating creativity, initiative, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail in meeting deadlines.
The Videographer also visually documents college faculty, staff, students, and events as a historical record, and archives and manages footage for repurposing as b-roll in other productions.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mastery of video and audio capture and post-production, with hands-on experience in related workflows and processes, backed by a portfolio that demonstrates strong visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom, with working knowledge of After Effects or similar motion graphics software, as well as experience with motion graphics and animation, or collaborating with animators.
  • Previous professional videography or video production experience, ideally in higher education, science, or healthcare, and previous professional videography experience, particularly in higher education, science, or veterinary or healthcare communications.
  • Experience filming in clinical, research, or live-event settings, and organizing and archiving digital video footage.
  • Working knowledge of both Mac OS and Windows platforms, with high ethical standards and integrity when handling confidential information.

  • A valid North Carolina Driver's License is required within 60 days of start date and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
