Position Summary
Plan, construct, alter, and repair a wide variety of tools, dyes, fixtures, and machinery where accurate relationship and fitting requires maintenance of very close tolerances.
Responsibilities
  • Make tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, special machinery try-outs, and diagnose and correct problems
  • Set-up and operate all tool room equipment, including but not limited to a mill lathe, CNC equipment, and EDM
  • Must use constant care in safety precautions when constructing, altering, or debugging special machinery
  • Must be accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continuous basis
  • Must be able to plan, construct, altar, and repair a wide variety of tools, dyes, fixtures, and machinery
  • Must be able to operate all tool room equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, etc.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required.
  • Vocational education or apprenticeship training.
  • 3+ years as a Toolmaker or applicable experience in machine shop
  • Limited heat treating and welding desired
