What do subcontractors get paid?

Subcontractors are typically paid based on project completion, hourly rates, or a fixed contract amount, depending on the scope of work and agreement terms. Payments are often made after milestones are achieved or upon project completion, and rates vary by industry, experience, and location. Many subcontractors also handle their own taxes and insurance costs.

What is the highest paying contractor job?

In professional subcontracting, specialized roles such as construction managers, project managers, and estimators often earn the highest salaries, especially with experience and certifications like PMP or LEED. High-paying subcontractor jobs typically require advanced skills, extensive industry knowledge, and the ability to manage large projects or teams.

What jobs pay $4000 a week without a degree?

In professional subcontracting, high-paying roles such as experienced construction managers, specialized trades like electricians or plumbers, and certain freelance or independent contractor positions can earn around $4,000 weekly without a formal degree. Success in these roles typically depends on skills, experience, certifications, and the ability to manage projects or clients independently.

The Project Engineer works in close daily partnership with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements. This position is an ideal entry point for a construction professional building toward a Project Manager role

ย
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Documentation & Administration

  • Maintain and distribute project submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and correspondence throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track and manage all submittals and RFIs in Procore, ensuring timely responses and accurate distribution to relevant parties
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of subcontracts, purchase orders, and vendor agreements
  • Manage project closeout documentation including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, lien waivers, and punch list tracking
  • Maintain organized and current project files in accordance with document control standards

Schedule & Budget Support

  • Assist Project Managers in developing and maintaining project schedules; proactively flag delays, conflicts, or open items
  • Track project costs against approved budgets; prepare cost reports and assist with pay application review and processing
  • Support procurement efforts by soliciting subcontractor and supplier bids, comparing proposals, and coordinating scope review with the Project Manager
  • Monitor and log contract change events to support timely owner change order issuance

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate subcontractor onboarding, including contract execution, insurance certificate (COI) collection, and compliance verification
  • Track subcontractor open items, outstanding documentation, and deliverable deadlines to resolution
  • Assist with scheduling subcontractors and material deliveries in coordination with field Superintendents
  • Maintain and update subcontractor contact logs, compliance matrices, and insurance expiration tracking

Field & Site Support

  • Conduct regular site visits to document progress, photograph work in place, and support Superintendent needs
  • Attend and participate in OAC meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and internal project reviews
  • Assist in identifying and logging field issues, RFIs, and non-conforming work for resolution
  • Support job site safety documentation and coordinate compliance records with field personnel

Owner & Stakeholder Communication

  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, action item logs, and project status updates for owner and design team review
  • Maintain accurate and professional written communications with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Assist in preparing project reports and presentations for internal leadership review as needed

Systems & Reporting
