Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a school-based setting in Raeford, NC. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assist in providing speech and language services that help students achieve their communication goals.

This is an in-person position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a supportive educational team.

Responsibilities
  • Implement speech and language treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Assist with individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Collect and document student performance data and progress.
  • Support speech and language screenings and other assigned activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and treatment records.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and the supervising SLP to support student success.
  • Follow all applicable professional, state, and school guidelines.
  • Perform duties within the scope of practice established by the supervising SLP and state regulations.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited SLPA program with an Associate's degree, or
  • Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field.
  • Completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork or equivalent clinical experience, as required by state regulations.
  • Current SLPA license/certification in the State of North Carolina.
  • Previous school-based or professional SLPA experience preferred.
  • Current health requirements and screening documentation as required.
  • Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
