Summary:

In this role, you will lead sourcing programs for a group of Vizient health systems, aligning contracting strategies with business objectives to deliver cost savings, performance improvement, and supply chain value. You will independently manage program operations, portfolio strategy, and quality assurance while serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter specialist to providers. You will model Vizient's values of Bold, Accountable, Inclusive, and Purposeful while strengthening provider and supplier value and contract commitment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead program structure, processes, workplans, performance metrics, deliverables, and goal achievement across the assigned portfolio.
  • Manage a portfolio of multidisciplinary contracts, including RFP development, complex negotiations, contract terms, utilization, and provider onboarding.
  • Use market intelligence, financial analysis, healthcare trends, and subject matter expertise to develop portfolio and contracting strategies and recommend workplan priorities.
  • Engage provider committees, councils, panels, and task forces to gather input, support contracting decisions, and incorporate feedback into program improvements.
  • Identify provider and supplier targets, new business opportunities, value propositions, and capabilities that expand program value.
  • Manage project expectations, timelines, risks, and stakeholder updates while providing timely recommendations and resolutions.
  • Demonstrates assertiveness, strong organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly, take ownership, and work independently with minimal ongoing direction.
  • Communicate savings initiatives, contracting updates, opportunities, next steps, successes, and challenges to Vizient leadership and key customer stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal and external customers, while mentoring others and supporting stakeholder training on program components.
  • Continuously improve program processes, outcomes, and deliverables through collaboration, feedback, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience contracting in med-highly complex categories (Physician Preference, Indirect Spend, Capital Equipment).
  • Experience in healthcare, logistics, consulting, or supply chain preferred.
  • Experience leading direct and/or indirect teams preferred.
  • Lean or project management experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in direct contract negotiations, including closing large-scale negotiations, preferred.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $77,400.00 to $135,400.00.
