Job description

E-Logic Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC), Combat Feeding Division (CFD) Joint Foodservice Engineering Team (JFET) . This role focuses on developing world-class military food service equipment systems and technologies across all four Services. The position requires expertise in product development, engineering analysis, 3D modeling, and testing of field feeding and shipboard food service equipment .


Key Responsibilities:

General Engineering Support:

  • Draft and prepare 339 Engineering Support cases for final review and approval by designated Government officials
  • Attend monthly meetings and evaluate formal technical reports on system design submitted by Manufacturing Science and Technology Program (MSTP) performer groups
  • Instrument and conduct in-house testing of commercial appliances for inclusion aboard naval vessels, including developing test plans and formal test reports
  • Conduct test and evaluation efforts on Navy Galley and Sculley equipment in accordance with ASTM and Navy unique test standards
  • Utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop concepts addressing field feeding equipment capability gaps

Specific Technical Requirements:

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct baseline and performance testing of Insulated Food Container/Insulated Beverage Container prototypes
  • Provide design and engineering analysis of the Food Decontamination Insertion Kit
  • Support Point of Need or field deployed nutrition equipment, including production, processing, and packaging of products
  • Conduct market research and evaluate mobile processing solutions
  • Support Navy Expeditionary Kitchen System (NEFKS) prototype development
  • Provide technical solutions for Expeditionary Field Kitchen Systems and tactical field refrigeration components
  • Support Arctic Capable Advanced Refrigerated Container System (ACARCS) technical recommendations and testing
  • Support Developmental and Operational testing of Joint Service Expandable Refrigerated Container System (JSERCS) and Compact Sanitation System prototypes
  • Develop 3D models, systems models, and conduct process simulation and structural/thermal analysis of Food Service Equipment and Systems
Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution (Master's preferred)

General Experience:

  • Expertise in Mechanical Engineering principles including structural analysis, thermal analysis, and heat transfer
  • Knowledge of Military field food service and shipboard systems and equipment requirements
  • Experience with testing equipment to commercial and military test standards
  • Ration preservation knowledge including refrigeration theory and principles

Specialized Experience:

  • Engineering analysis, test and evaluation planning, and reporting
  • Solidworks modeling software (CAD) - proficiency required
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - demonstrated experience required
  • Advanced ration modeling software development
  • Artificial Intelligence/Neural Network software development and implementation

Other Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship or ability to work on U.S. Government contracts
  • Must complete Level 1 OPSEC Awareness training (no security clearance required)
  • Ability to travel domestically (4-6 CONUS trips per year, 3-4 days per trip)
  • Ability to work on-site at Natick, MA facility as needed
