Technical Product Specialist 
Job Description

If you have: 

  • Greater than 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry that uses cutting tools and abrasives 

  • At least 5 years of machining experience 

  • Must have strong technical knowledge of cutting tools, PPE, abrasives, and cutting tool applications 

  • Process improvement experience 

  • Knowledge of cutting tool geometry 

  • Knowledge of cutting tool manufacturers 

  • Knowledge of the aerospace market a plus 

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills. 

  • Strong mathematical skills 

  • Experience with multi-axis machine tool programing a plus 

  • Ability to interpret complex prints and models 

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision 

  • Data analysis 

  • Ability to lead projects; results oriented 

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation 

A typical day may look like this: 

  • Ensure all tooling released to production meets customer’s requirements 

  • Routine, basic inspection of tooling  

  • Assist with tooling performance checks 

  • Works with engineers to determine tooling needs 

  • Troubleshooting of issues relating to product applications 

  • Application support of new products 

  • Improve existing processes and applications by reviewing objectives and specifications 

  • Recommend changes and make modifications to tooling, applications and processes of machining as needed 

  • Support of reconditioning program 

  • Facilitation of manufacturer visits and the introduction of their products to the customer 

  • Facilitate corrective action program 

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management 

  • 50% Sitting 

  • 40% Standing 

  • 10% Walking 

  • Lifting up to 40 lbs.
