Senior / Staff Backend Engineer – Distributed Systems & Network Automation About Netris

Netris is the leading network automation platform for AI clouds. AI is the largest infrastructure buildout in history, and networking is its bottleneck. Netris is the automation and multi‑tenancy layer for AI cloud networking, enabling operators to launch GPU clouds in weeks, provision tenants instantly, and maximize GPU utilization. The company experienced 800% ARR growth in the last 12 months, with 35+ live GPU cluster deployments globally and growing, and is backed by Andreessen Horowitz. SDN reinvented data center networking, and Netris is doing it for the AI cloud with NAAM: Network Automation, Abstraction, and Multi‑Tenancy.

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend engineer to help design, own, and build the distributed control‑plane services behind the Netris platform.

This role requires strong backend engineering fundamentals, hands‑on distributed systems experience, and the ability to translate high‑level infrastructure requirements into scalable, production‑grade system designs and implementations.

Engineers in this role are expected to take ownership across architecture, implementation, reliability, observability, and long‑term system evolution within a fast‑moving infrastructure startup environment.

What you’ll do
  • Own the design and implementation of scalable backend services powering network automation workflows
  • Drive architectural decisions across APIs, internal services, and distributed control‑plane components
  • Build REST APIs using Node.js and gRPC services using Golang
  • Design resilient distributed systems for high‑scale infrastructure environments
  • Improve system scalability, observability, resiliency, and operational reliability
  • Collaborate closely with infrastructure, networking, and product teams
  • Drive engineering best practices around reliability, testing, and CI/CD
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience
  • Strong experience with Node.js and Golang
  • Hands‑on experience building distributed systems
  • Experience with MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, gRPC, Linux, and containers
  • Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Ability to translate high‑level requirements into technical designs and production‑ready implementations
Bonus
  • Experience in infrastructure, networking, or cloud companies
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and event‑driven systems
  • Experience building multi‑tenant SaaS platforms
