The Leasing Consultant supports this mission by promoting the community and the rental of apartments using a resourceful and gracious manner. The Leasing Consultant assists current residents with their needs and works closely with other office personnel in a customer service environment. The Leasing Consultant will be expected to effectively communicate the benefits of the community and rent apartments to prospective tenants entering the community. This position requires strong organizational skills and flexibility is a must because an ordinary day can change very quickly.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain a professional image at all times in all weather conditions
  • Ability to learn the products, apartment benefits and communicate with prospective tenants
  • Possess confidence in themselves and products to be successful in this position
  • Strong and effective telephone skills
  • Ability to handle objections with unhappy tenants or prospects
  • Social Media management
  • Marketing of apartments
  • Coordination of community events
  • Working both in person and virtually with prospective residents
  • Customer service for 308-unit apartment community
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing, including over the telephone
  • Possess general office and keyboarding skills
  • Able to follow company procedures regarding proper key control
  • Able to handle and receipt cash
  • Able to learn and explain the terms of the lease
  • Able to learn and use various software programs
  • Able to comprehend and complete various reports on a weekly basis
  • Able to work with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to grow into and learn other skills of the real estate industry
  • Leasing agent will be assigned tasks that benefit the property, and this may require that the agent works outside the office in vacant apartments or on the grounds of the property

Compensation:

The Leasing Consultant compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. This range is subject to local, state, and regional dynamics and may be adjusted up or down depending on market conditions.


Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibility


Promotional Opportunity:

Associates with more than twelve (12) months of service may request consideration to transfer to other jobs as vacancies become available and will be considered along with other applicants. To be considered, Associates must have a satisfactory performance record and have no disciplinary actions during the last twelve (12) months. Management retains the discretion to make exceptions to the policy.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record acceptable to the company’s liability insurance carrier
  • Must not pose a threat to the safety and health of himself/herself or others
  • Able to read and follow instructions, warnings, procedures, etc.
  • Able to show vacant space, inspect grounds and facilities in adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
  • Must be able to keyboard and use a mouse
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus is required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, and handle items and communicate on the phone.


Physical Demands:

  • Able to sit at a desk for up to 6 hours
  • Able to climb 3 flights of stairs several times a day inspecting apartments or hallways
  • Employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and must occasionally reach, stoop, kneel and crouch
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus is required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear and handle items and communicate on the phone.
  • Able to maintain mobility to complete job tasks in adverse conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold).
